Survivors of Suicide Support Group
Adult Group (18+): 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month from 6:00-7:30pm
This group’s mission is to provide a safe place for survivors to share their experience (thoughts and feelings).
If you have lost a loved one by suicide the pain, shock, and confusion can seem unbearable; you are not alone. Suicide loss survivors share a singular bond. While each situation is unique, survivors can experience similar feelings, questions, and complex grief. Support groups are designed to help a group of people that share similar experiences. It is through the sharing of our stories that we can better understand and heal while riding the roller coaster that is grief.
In this group you will not be pressured to talk, share your story, or grief. Therapeutic information is offered to survivors to assist in healthy coping and healing skills. Group often provides an opportunity for survivors to learn from the struggles and victories of others in the group. The suicide bereavement process is difficult for people to “navigate” making the topic taboo or even stigmatized. If you choose to discuss your loss, speaking can allow other group members to offer insight and advice based on their own unique experience.
This group is ongoing and open to the public. Survivors of Suicide is free to all and group members are welcome to attend at their rate of comfortability. This group is provided free to attendees courtesy of the Greater Reading Mental Health Alliance.
Support groups meet at Clear Water Wellness, 4 Park Plaza, Wyomissing, PA 19610. We are located on the first floor. Once you enter our hallway, group meets in the first door on your left. A ‘Group’ sign should show you are in the right place.
Grief Support Group
Grief Support Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:00-7:30pm
Grief groups don’t promise to help people stop grieving, but to help people meet others who understand their feelings as a way to normalize the individual grief process. Others in the room are like you; they have lost a loved one. Some may want to talk and share while others will only listen. The group atmosphere is nurturing and warm. Attendance is a choice; some people attend for months or years while others find they only need to go a few times.
Our goal for group is to create a space where members feel comfortable sharing stories, crying and talking. Taking the time to deal with difficult, and at times, confusing feelings that grief presents with. This group aims to help individuals cope with loss in their life through support, psycho-education, and self-shared experiences from group members.

Please take into consideration the depth of this topic when considering bringing individuals under the age of 14.
