What To Expect
Reaching out for therapy can bring up a lot of questions: What happens next? Who will I work with? How do I know where to begin? Our goal is to make the process feel clear, welcoming, and supportive from the very beginning.
1. Request an appt.
Click here to fill out our easy Initial Appointment Request form. You will be prompted to enter some basic contact information, a brief description of why you are seeking counseling, and your preferred availability for appointments. You will also have the chance to enter any other info you feel would be important or helpful for us to know.

3. Show up for your first appt.
Your first session is a chance to slow down, settle in, and begin a conversation with your therapist. Together, you'll talk about what brought you to counseling, any concerns you'd like to address, what is happening in your current life, what challenges you might be facing, what you hope to gain from therapy and what you hope life might look like if things felt better.
Many people feel nervous before their first appointment. Many people worry about what to say, whether they're "doing therapy right," or if their concerns are important enough to bring into the room. The truth is, there is no perfect way to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. These concerns are common, and there is no right or wrong way to begin.
Therapy is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you arrive with a long list of things you want to discuss or aren't quite sure where to start, your therapist will meet you where you are. Our goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported as we get to know your story. You don't need to prepare a perfect explanation or have everything figured out before you arrive. Your therapist will help guide the conversation and create space for you to share at a pace that feels comfortable.
Your first appointment is also an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about your therapist's approach, and determine whether the relationship feels like a good fit.

4. Continue your therapy journey with us for as long as you want/need!
Therapy is a process that unfolds over time. As you continue meeting with your therapist, you'll have the opportunity to deepen insight, build skills, work through challenges, and move toward the goals that matter most to you.
No two therapy experiences look exactly alike. Some clients focus on managing current stressors, while others explore longstanding patterns, process difficult experiences, strengthen relationships, or pursue personal growth. Your care will be tailored to your unique needs and may evolve as those needs change.
At the end of your first session, you and your therapist will discuss recommendations for ongoing care and determine a schedule that feels supportive and sustainable. Some clients attend weekly, while others prefer biweekly or less frequent appointments.
Many clients choose to schedule recurring appointments in advance to maintain consistency and reserve their preferred time slot. Appointment reminders are able to be set up so you can automatically be notified about your appointments to help make the process as seamless as possible.
