Understanding Our Out-Of-Network Model

We believe accessing mental health care should feel straightforward and informed. We are an out-of-network therapy practice, which allows us to provide individualized, specialized care without being limited by insurance-driven requirements.

Clients pay for services directly at the time of their appointment and may be eligible to receive reimbursement through their insurance company if their plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits.

While we do not bill insurance directly, many clients utilize their out-of-network benefits to receive partial reimbursement.

With out-of-network benefits:

  • You typically pay for services at the time of your appointment

  • Upon request, your clinician will provide you with a superbill containing the information needed for insurance reimbursement

  • You submit the superbill directly to your insurance company

  • Your insurance provider determines reimbursement based on your specific plan

If you have questions about fees, out-of-network benefits, or the reimbursement process, our team is happy to help you understand your options before scheduling.

Why Choose an Out-of-Network Practice?

Insurance plans often determine:

  • What diagnoses qualify for coverage

  • How often therapy can occur

  • What documentation is required

  • Which services are considered reimbursable

Investment in Care

We are an out-of-network practice by choice—not because we don’t understand insurance, and not because we don’t value accessibility. We chose this model because we believe therapy works best when treatment decisions are guided by the individual in front of us.

This allows our clinicians to focus on what matters most:

  • Creating individualized treatment plans based on your goals and needs

  • Providing specialized care without unnecessary restrictions

  • Using clinical judgment to determine the most effective path forward

  • Offering flexibility in treatment approaches, pacing, and frequency

We understand that insurance coverage plays an important role in making therapy accessible for many people, and we encourage clients to explore their available benefits.

We also believe that effective therapy is built on connection, trust, and finding care that fits your individual needs. Our goal is to support you in making an informed decision about the type of care that feels right for you.

Concerned About the Cost of Therapy?

Investing in therapy is a personal decision, and finding care that feels clinically supportive and financially sustainable matters. We encourage open conversations about financial considerations. Intern Sessions

For those looking for lower cost options, we offer intern sessions at a reduced rate.

A therapy intern is a graduate-level clinician who is completing required clinical hours as part of their master’s program in counseling or social work. They have completed coursework in diagnosis, ethics, and therapeutic techniques and are now gaining hands-on experience — under close supervision.

Our interns

         •       Work under the supervision of a fully licensed clinician

         •       Participate in weekly supervision

         •       Review cases to ensure high-quality care

         •       Follow the same ethical and confidentiality standards

Think of it like a medical residency — they are trained, capable, and supported.

Working with an intern can be a wonderful option for clients who:

         •       Prefer lower session rates

         •       Appreciate a collaborative team-based approach

         •       Feel comfortable contributing to a clinician’s professional development

Utilizing out-of-network benefits

Using HSA or FSA funds toward eligible services

Exploring EAP benefits when available

Adjusting frequency based on clinical needs & budget

Ready to Take the Next Step?

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big decision. We understand that choosing therapy involves many considerations — including timing, finances, and finding the right fit. You do not need to have everything figured out before taking those first steps. Our team is here to make the process simple and supportive by answering questions, clarifying options, and helping you determine the next step that feels right for you.

When availability allows, we offer same-week appointments, including initial intake sessions. Scheduling is managed through our intake team to ensure timely access and the best possible clinician fit.

Cancellations, Late Cancels, and No Shows

Please remember to cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment will be considered a late cancel and you will be responsible for a late cancellation fee. Late cancellations and re-scheduled session will be subject to the $85.00 fee IF NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. Please be advised that any attempts to cancel an appointment via phone call or text outside of our normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00am-7:00pm) will be acknowledged and addressed at the beginning of the next business day, and you may still be subject to the late cancellation fee. To avoid any complications with cancellations, we encourage you to utilize the patient portal, as it ensures timely processing of your request. Any missed sessions will be considered a no show and you will be responsible for the $85 no show fee. In the event of late cancellations or no shows, your credit card on file will be charged for the late cancellations or no shows fee. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we try to be as flexible as possible. However, excessive late cancellations or no-shows may result in a modified agreement regarding our late cancel/no-show policy.
